Our local company presence has grown and become very strong in the Ottawa marketplace since the Campbell Group of Companies purchased the company in 2000. With the strengths of the group and being a member of Canada’s Number one Van Line, United Van Lines.
The Campbell Group assumed all the operation and retained all of the staff; the change was the focus of doing business. With the Campbell Group (CGC) having no previous presence in Ottawa, our staff strived to get the name out, as a "Total Global Relocator" in Ottawa.
Our business in Ottawa has continued to grow each year. Our equipment, staff and owner operators continue to surpass levels of service and we are awarded Quality Assurance awards on an annual basis.
Our overseas business has grown with the influence of Campbell International which has more than 100 years of experience in international moving. It has provided expertise to Campbell Moving that has assisted Campbell in becoming one of the few companies pre-qualified to do moves for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
This department relocates 200 employees each season out of Ottawa, and brings home another 200, from our Canadian Embassies throughout the World. This is the 6th year Campbell Moving has been pre-qualified proving that our company has the service levels and pride in our business and set standards that you can count on.
Our staff inside and out has grown to add to all of our current staff since the purchase in 2000. Our returning customers can be comfortable knowing they can be assisted by a familiar face or voice. In 2003, our company was the first to be nominated for the "Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics", by the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Ontario. No other moving company in Ottawa has ever been nominated or given-"A GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT”.
In 2007, our company was included in the BBB Honor Roll.

I started in the moving business as a Summer Student, worked my way to a Warehouseman, Driver, Salesman, Dispatcher, Operation Manager and my current position as Branch Manager/Owner with Campbell Moving Systems and the CGC. United is getting greener and greener! With over 200 locations across Canada, we care about keeping our local communities clean and green for many years to come. We are dedicated to improving our environment by reducing waste and improving efficiency in our daily operations.
United has worked hard to become a paperless work environment. With online systems being implemented, our Member movers and Van Line personnel can enter notes, track a shipment, share information and create online invoices without ever using a sheet of paper. Our customers can even submit information online, such as quality surveys and claims forms when necessary.
Quilted Furniture blankets are used to wrap and protect your possessions when preparing for a move. Once they become unusable for your household items they are used to wrap less valuable items such as lawn and garden tools.
For efficiency and safety, when our long distance Service Fleet tractors and trailers reach a certain mileage they are sold or used for local moving work. Our containers are taken off of the long distance fleet after 15 years and sold to companies and farmers for local storage.
United has a container manufacturing facility where we build and maintain our containers. This facility recycles the wood, steel and cardboard that is used in the manufacturing process.
United and our Members use cartons that contain recycled material, and Kraft packing paper that is 100% recyclable. All of our offices also work hard to recycle paper, cans, bottles, cardboard and toner cartridges.
